Newest Mortal Kombat game?

like many i have been hearing these things about a new mortal Kombat game..for the next gen systems...but i am in no way talking about the Mortal Kombat Vs Dc universe... I mean an actual sequel to Armegeddon..i just wanna know if it is true or not.. did Midway already start on a new game that is dark and gritty just like Mortal Kombat should be..they said that they would be doing everything from scratch.. are they talking about Vs DC universe or are they reffereing to some un named mortal Kombat game..Info would help
