Your teacher sounds really stupid. I personally hate that, I am in college and we still have to focus on those issues. I live in in NYC and we still go through these issues in college. I also agree with you that by just focusing on the issues of race rather than the positive things of it then obviously racial unity will be almost be impossible to obtain.
